Hot, Hot, Hot....

Covid has receded but most of us are still confined to camp, No summer holidays abroad this year so the Mediterranean climate has come to us. The island has seen an influx of visitors from surrounding counties and London all eager to sample the beaches and laid back lifestyle which the island affords.

We have beaches, mostly pebble, but sandcastles can be found. We have beach cafes and ice-cream. We have fish and chips, in my view the best can be found at the funfair. Yes we have a funfair and an amazement arcade. We also have fitness machines a skate-board park, kitesurfing, and all manor of water sports. And... we have music... lots of it during the summer. On the east side of the island we have the Lifeboat station whilst on the west we find the ferryboat, yes a pub/restaurant and a boat which takes you to Eastney. North to south we have the "Billy trail" so get on your bike and enjoy the island and its surrounds by peddle power. Believe me you'll get there faster than the car especially when the sun shines.

I've been cycling around the island during lockdown but now I have started to venture further afield travelling north to Havant and on to Waterlooville, east to Eastleigh and west to Portsmouth and I have the photos to prove it! My trusty tricycle has put in some mileage and I shall tell you of my adventures as we go along. I'm becoming more proficient at uploading photos and editing these pages. Google and others assume that the mobile phone dominates and makes life difficult for those of us who prefer a camera. I shall persevere. I can see what I am doing with a camera instead of guessing with my phone and the picture quality is far better too.

My next story will be about my trip to the Spinnaker so watch this space... meanwhile its off to the beach for coffee and cake....

At the moment I am adding all these photos to my Hayling Island Photo Album , I may subdivide later we shall see.
